Hi there, I would like to welcome you to our PAC (Parents' Activities Committee) Webpage.
For those parents who are new to St. Cronan's, this is where we, the PAC,
can let you know of upcoming fundraising events, before the notes hit the school bags !!
In September we had an extremely successful Cake Sale, and we completed three bag packing events in October and November in Cornelscourt. For all you parents who helped make both events so successful a big thank you. We mustn’t forget the teachers who turned out to support when our numbers were a bit low; again a big thank you.
Cake Sale - Sept '09
Bag Packs - Oct / Nov '09
November and December in any household is a very busy time.
Also for our fund raising in St. Cronan’s it is a busy time.
Christmas Craft Fair
First up, on Sunday the 29th November the Craft Fair will be held in the school hall. This year, like last, the PAC will be running a second hand bookstall and a coffee shop with goodies. A new idea that two members of the PAC have being working very hard on is Individual Class Christmas Cards; hopefully we will have them ready to sell on the day. Santa will also be there on the day for the kids to visit, and the 6th Class pupils will have their mini-company in operation selling their wares.
A note will be going home in the school bags two weeks before hand asking for donations of unwanted books. We would be delighted if anyone would like to help out on the day, either on the bookstall or in the coffee shop (even an hour of your time would be appreciated). If you can’t help out no worries but please come along and support the school.
Christmas Tree Sale
Then on Saturday the 12th of December, we will be holding our Christmas Tree Sale. The trees will cost €35 each and the sizes range from 6ft to 9ft. For the first time this year, a delivery service will be available for €5 within Bray. We will also have a selection of Swags and Wreaths available for sale on the day.
This year in an extra push, we will be leafleting all the estates covered by the PAC members - as we do not have a member living in every estate in Bray, we would appreciate a few volunteers to leaflet their estates if we are stuck. If anyone would be able to help out on the day of the tree sale please let us know.
As you can see from the above, the PAC are looking for a little help throughout the year from parents to volunteer for events. Even though fundraising for better facilities for our children is a large part of our purpose, we are also the voice of the parents to the Board of Management for the school, so if there are any issues or problems that you would like us to raise please do not hesitate to contact any member of the committee.
That’s it then for 2009. So we hope you have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year. See you in 2010 (or beforehand if you are able to help out at either of our events !!!)
