Sport and Music > Music in St. Cronan's

The St. Cronan's Boys Choir has been very busy over the last few years,
with Ms. Healy as the Musical Director and accompanied by Mr. Dodd on the piano.
Here are just some of the things that they have been up to !

The boys sang at the official opening of the new school
by Minister for Education Michael Woods on 18th June 2001.

In October 2003, the choir were invited to sing at a festival in Hollyhead in Wales.
They were joined by a group of dancers and musicians from Bray.

In September 2004, the choir received the great honour of being invited to
Áras an Uachtaráin, to sing for President Mary McAleese.

Also in 2004, they recorded a Christmas CD with the legendary Ronnie Drew.

This photo shows Ronnie Drew and Marian Finucane
with the choir at the launch of the CD
"The Magic Of Christmas".

The song playing on this page is "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears"

This CD is still available to buy at the school !

Over the last number of years, the boys in the Senior Classes have taken part in
The National Children's Choir.
The photos above and below show some of the boys from our school
who were selected from our school to sing in the National Concert Hall.

Our 4th Class boys take part in the annual Hallelujah Concert in Dublin each Christmas.
This photo shows some of the boys from the 2007 Concert.

It's nice to see the same flag from the CD Launch is still travelling with the School Choir !
