Isn't it hard to believe that we are now entering the final term of this school year?

Firstly let me update you on the extension. Despite recent headlines about prefabs, we have been very fortunate to have a team of excellent builders working here. Our plan is for our three prefabs to be off site by mid-May and for the extension to be completed and occupied by mid June at the latest.

Our sacramental programme also comes to its conclusion over the next few weeks as our Queen of Peace pupils make their Confirmation as do our First Communicants. Holy Redeemer pupils celebrated their Confirmation prior to the Easter holidays. We are very grateful to the parish Sacramental Leaders and their teams for making this a special experience for all concerned, both pupils and parents.

This is also the time for school assessments. Pupils will be taking Drumcondra Assessment tests in Maths, Reading and Spelling over the next few weeks.

On the sports front, we hope to begin golf coaching soon with Ciarán Carroll in Bray Golf club while Delgany Golf Club intend running an interschool golf competition for 6th class pupils at the end of May. Please let us know if you wish your son to participate. We have also been offered the services of a professional basketball coach for our senior classes.

The issue of uniform generally comes to the fore at this time of year so may I remind pupils that they are expected to wear the appropriate uniform (school track suit on PE days and full uniform of other days). However, those who have our 'summer' uniform may wear this from now until the end of June.

We are collecting Trocaire boxes up to Friday 24th April, but not thereafter.

For the past few years Holland's Fine Wines has held a very enjoyable Wine Fair in aid of St. Cronan's, St Patrick's and Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh. This will take place on Thursday 30th April from 5.00pm to 8.00pm at Bray Town Hall. Tickets cost €10.

Finally, may I thank them for their generous contribution to our school and also our parent volunteers who continue to assist us in so many ways.
